Working characteristics of twin-screw extruder:


1. Twin-screw extruder is mainly used to produce pipes, plates, granulation and guide profiles. The output of extrusion molding is twice or more than that of single screw, and the energy consumption is also lower than that of single screw extruder.

2. Single-screw extrusion plastic products need to be added to the production of granular materials, while the twin-screw extruder may be directly added to the powder extrusion because of its strong transportation ability, thus eliminating the granulation process and reducing the processing cost of plastic products.

3. The shear calorific value of the twin-screw extruder is small, which does not require high thermal stability of special materials. It can reduce the dosage of some stabilizers. The toxic effect of stabilizers is relatively reduced, and the cost is also reduced.

4. Compared with general intermittent or continuous reactors, twin-screw extruder has thinner dispersion layer of molten materials and larger melt surface area. The extremely thin and constantly updated surface layer is conducive to the material transfer and heat exchange of chemical reactions. Twin-screw extruder enables materials to quickly and accurately complete predetermined chemical changes during transportation. The modified polymer which is not easy to be prepared in the large stirring reactor can also be finished in the twin-screw reaction extruder. The twin-screw extruder is used for reaction processing, which does not have small volume and can be continuously processed, energy-saving, there is a large selection room for raw materials and products, and the operation is simple and convenient.
